  The customer is always wrong, apparently
  Ordered a large consignment of logs. Received damp slices of bark and what looked like lumps of gate post. Unpacked 25% of the wood and stacked in our wood store, hoping to find logs lurking underneath. Gave up. Tried lighting a couple of fires with the bark slices - got nothing but a warm smoky hiss and even achieving that required a ton of kindling. Called up Firewood and Logs and showed them photographs of the rubbish wood. They said they'd accidentally delivered their 'offcuts' pack instead of logs. Gave us two options: 1) keep the wood and get £36 refunded (the difference between the cost of offcuts and logs) or 2) spend the evening taking all the unused bark pieces back out of our woodstore, so they could pick up the full consignment and replace it. We pointed out that this represented Hobson's choice as far as the customer is concerned. They more or less said that was tough. We said forget it, we want our money back. They said that we they would need to collect the wood and 'verify' that what we were saying was correct before they would refund. We pointed out that they'd seen photos. They wouldn't budge - needed to check we weren't lying before they would deign to give our money back. So that's however long - a week or two - that they'll have kept our money and we'll have been unable to light a fire. Rude, rubbish service, appalling attitude - they think they're doing us a favour.
